Knit and Knatter - February

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

Just a quick note: the next Knit and Knatter group meeting will be on Monday 18th February 2008, from 7.30pm.

And I started knitting a thick Aran sweater over the Christmas break - I’ll probably have finished it in time for the warm summer weather!

Next Knit and Knatter Group Meeting

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

Following a good evening in October where Fran provided banana cake for refreshments, the next Knit and Knatter Group Meeting will be on Monday 19th November at my house.

The wedding came and went. The bride was lovely in her dress and the groom looked like the cat who’d got the cream. Everyone made very positive comments about my biscuits which was nice.

More Knit and Knatter

At the last Knit and Knatter the wedding favour biscuits were greatly appreciated. They tasted good even if they didn’t look quite as beautiful as I’d like them to. Need another practice run!

Alison joined us and was trying to work out how to knit a Rammstein logo - don’t ask - they’re a German NDH-Metal band that she’s into.

Meanwhile everyone else’s projects are coming along.

Next get together Monday 15th October.

Aylesbury Knit & Knatter

Another good time was had by all last week at the last Knit and Knatter meeting.

I’d managed to make a chocolate truffle cake which was greatly appreciated. See what you miss by not being there!
Everyone’s projects seem to be coming on very well with Angela sewing up squares to make a blanket and Linda showing us several little girl’s cardigans she’d made recently.

My (big girl’s) cardigan is coming along nicely - I’ve done the back and one front. Next week I’m spending the day with my mother so I’ll get a chance to do a lot more to it.

Meanwhile the baking is also going well - I’ve been asked to make biscuits as wedding favours for my son’s wedding in October, so I’ll have to practise on the group next time.

Look forward to seeing anyone who can make it.

We had a very lively group on Monday with another new member and several existing members swelling the numbers.

Linda deals in antique buttons and brought along a collection for us all to admire (and some to purchase).

The cake was delicious - I can say that, I was too late home from work so it came from a local shop that sells home baking.

The next meeting is scheduled for Monday 20th August, from 7.30pm at my house. If you want to come along drop me an email and I’ll give you directions.

We had a new member join us at the June meeting which was great! Welcome Janet.

Unfortunately I failed to remind the regular members and so the turn out was well down.

The next meeting is on Monday 23rd July from 7.30pm at my home. Do email for directions if necessary. Bring your knitting, everyone welcome and, work permitting, I’ll have done some home baking for the evening.

And, I finally finished the Patchwork Pullover so anyone who comes along can see it in all its completed glory!

Aylesbury Knit and Knatter 21st May 2007

Quite a full house last night with 6 of us knitting and crocheting and eating chocolate eclairs!

Fran brought her crocheting as she reckons it grows quicker that knitting. Considering how many projects she’s finished over the last few months, she’ll be drowning in crocheted bits and pieces before long!

And we welcomed Caroline as our newest member. Welcome!

I’m currently awaiting information from Rowan about the great Knit in Public Day on June 9th when we might have an impromptu meeting in a local cafe just to show the world we knit! I’ll post more information when I have it.

The next meeting is scheduled for 18th June at my house - all knitters (and crocheters) will be very warmly welcomed.

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

The next meeting is Monday 16th April 2007, from 7.30pm at my house.

Everyone welcome - just bring your knitting and any questions you might have. We’re very informal - it’s just a chance to focus on your knitting with like minded people for a couple of hours. I like to think of it as an oasis away from the daily pressures of life.
