Casting on with two needles.
This gives a very neat edge which is ideal for kids jumpers as it is harder wearing than the one needle cast on.
Knits and Purls
The knit stitch is the first basic knitting stitch which, together with the purl stitch is all you need to create all sorts of knitted textures, patterns and garments.
The purl stitch is a knit stitch in reverse. Together with the knit stitch is almost all you need to know!
Ribbing is alternating knit and purl stitches, usually knit 1, purl 1 or knit 2, purl 2.
At the end of your piece of work you will need to cast off, or bind off, to leave a neat finished edge.
